Listen, we totally get it. Coming to the massage table can feel a little vulnerable!
The human body is complicated and absolutely amazing, but we understand that totally normal things about our bodies can make us feel embarrassed or self conscious.
Here is your reminder that our studio is a safe place for you to BE, to heal, to relax, and be comfortable without judgment.
Let's talk about:
🌿Stomach Growling: Helping you get into something called your parasympathetic nervous system is a big part of our massage practice. This is often also called "rest and digest" system (the opposite of fight or flight) and that means it is super common for your stomach to growl and make noises during your massage. Hooray! That often means we are doing a great job. Hey sometimes our stomach growls too. It can be relaxing in that space.
🌿Falling Asleep: That rest and digest nervous system we mentioned above? Rest is a big part of it. It can be responsible for that dreamy inbetween space we all love so much. Sometimes it helps us get sleep in session or it can help with sleep later that night. Don't worry, your body is getting exactly what it needs and we don't mind a little snoring.
🌿Unshaved legs: We are deeply focused on many things during your massage. Your body hair is not one of them. Shaved, unshaved I promise we barely notice. This is a safe space, don't stress about making your body "perfect". Give yourself permission to be as comfortable as possible and never feel the need to apologize for unshaved anything. We are here to help you feel better, Not judge you.
🌿Farting: Yup. It happens almost everyday in session. Remember up there where we talk about rest and digest? Passing gas is part of a healthy digestive system. Which also makes it fairly common during a great massage.
🌿Body Shape or size: Are you human? Then you are human shaped and safe on our massage tables! Okay, we know that it might not feel that simple for everyone, but we work on people of all shapes and sizes including yours. We are deeply focused on how to best help you and meet your massage goals. If there is anything we can do to help you feel most comfortable in our care, please don't hesitate to ask. And please don't let this particular worry stop you from getting any of the TLC you deserve. We are here to support and care for your body, not to judge it.
